Artist Statement

Many of you know that I am becoming increasingly involved in sea turtle conservation.  In the not so distant future this mountain lady will move to Florida to be more hands on with sea turtles on both land and sea with the intent to continue creating cast glass sea turtle conservation sculptures.

In this Last Glance,  you will be seeing fine art glass wall pieces from vintage to more recent artist studies.  Frames and matting materials for the artist studies are all sourced from upcycled and repurposed parts to consciously focus on conservation of resources.  You’ll also find Original sketches never previously offered to the public before, plus a  few original drawings and multiple detailed prints  from a variety of projects.

Last September I was featured artist at a conservation show in Cannon Beach, OR.  The Spirtual Reliquary Vessel – Leatherback Mamma : Pacuare Memory and Wildlife Rondelle – Brown Pelican created at that show, are featured pieces in this exhibit.

Offered are items from small kiln formed glass trays and plates to one of my earliest large fine art works – Eyes of the Night – Into India Returns the Light/a large tiger portrait.  This is the Last Glance.  This is your last chance…..then I and my offerings will be moving on to the next stage of my life;  with turtles!  I’m so grateful to have had the privilege to live here in this beautiful county, and to have had your support and love for these 13 years.

There is a theme here:  it is conservation.  In 2011 I had a show at the Ravalli County Museum.  It was called – The Passion, The Perseverance, Equals The Process.  I continue that path – in the field and in my studio.  Thank you for being a part of that passion.

10 percent of all sales from this show will be donated to turtle and marine conservation organizations.
